As a leading non-bank Australian payment provider, Zeller identified demand for a paperless payment terminal that was durable, portable, easy to use, and visually appealing — while offering powerful features for all kinds of businesses.
Zeller undertook a comprehensive development process involving user research, design iterations, pre-production testing, and precision manufacturing to deliver a completely unique product, both in industrial design and on-screen experience.
Zeller Terminal 2 features a minimalist, streamlined form. Its inverted channel side profile raises the front for card insertion and the rear for improved screen visibility and NFC reading. An LED-illuminated Zeller logo on the rear allows for customisable colour programming.
Ergonomically designed for both merchants and customers, the terminal is available in black, white, and graphite to suit diverse business aesthetics. Accessories, such as the T2 Dock, were designed holistically, so fit seamlessly with the Zeller Terminal 2 unit.
The T2 Dock provides consistent, wired charge and data, holding the terminal in place magnetically, for straightforward lift-and-replace as needed in busy environments.
Affordability is central to Zeller’s model. Strong supplier relationships and a direct-to-business approach allow Zeller Terminal 2 to retail at least 20% more affordably than comparable devices.
Extensive expertise, research, design development and software engineering went into the on-screen experience, to make it industry-leading in features and ease-of-use, while maintaining strict security and regulatory standards.
Paperless QR code receipts are an industry first, reducing paper consumption, alongside management and cost.
Zeller Terminal 2 is designed with a replaceable battery for long life, accessed via an underside snap-on panel. Due to security compliance for payment terminals, it’s not possible to open and repair a unit, however Zeller takes return of old units for testing and redeployment, in an effort to reduce waste and environmental impact.
This reuse program extends to paper-only packaging, with no plastics used.
