The design process for the Shingleback MOTO rack was thorough, practical, and user-driven from the start. Our goal was clear: create a safer, easier way for riders to load, carry, and secure motorbikes—especially on passenger vehicles—without the instability or hassle of traditional carriers. We kicked off by listening to feedback from the riding community and our own team of keen adventurers. Early concepts were sketched, stress-tested, and continually refined with local fabricators and engineers.
Key challenges included achieving true one-handed loading, meeting strict weight and safety limits, and ensuring stability both on and off-road. Over 12 months, we rigorously tested prototypes in real-world Australian conditions—gravel, outback, and highways—making every adjustment count.
The final design features our patent-pending Lock Chock system, which securely clamps the front wheel for rock-solid hold, plus modular integration to carry up to two mountain bikes as well. Precision welding, Australian steel and aluminium, and an industrial-grade powder coat ensure a rack that’s tough, easy to use, and made to last. Each rack is certified to meet stringent engineering standards and professionally finished to withstand heavy, repeated use.
We’re proud to say the MOTO rack not only met, but exceeded, the original brief. It sets a new benchmark for safety, simplicity, and durability—delivering a genuinely better transport solution for Australian riders. By combining professional design execution, a rigorous local manufacturing process, and true innovation, we’ve created a product that’s as reliable as the adventures our customers chase.
