The Kino Storage Drawer was designed to allow both past and present customers of Eva beds to add drawers at any time, without needing size-specific versions or a whole new bed.  Designed in parallel with the Delve Bed and in consideration of the Eva Timber Bed, this approach enabled efficient material usage by incorporating timber offcuts to serve the other. It took a year to concept, develop, prototype and launch.
The drawers design seamlessly complements both timber and upholstered beds, maintaining visual continuity. User testing informed the push-to-open mechanism, accommodating users who prefer foot operation due to its ground-level positioning. Kino maximises under bed utility through a quadrant system allowing up to four drawers in any configuration. This flexibility lets users organise anything from small essentials to bulkier belongings like sports equipment.
The product meets all applicable safety standards, while push-to-open and soft-close mechanisms prevent component damage and finger injuries. Eva undertakes several rounds of user testing and quality control inspections ensuring  all joints align perfectly, with no visible gaps, uneven edges, or rough surfaces.
The drawer represents excellent value at its price point, having already yielded positive investment returns, with one in every two bed frames sold with a storage drawer. Environmental consciousness is demonstrated through timber offcut utilisation (responsibly sourced), eco-friendly packaging that diverts waste from landfills, and durable construction extending product life.
Premium materials and construction extend product longevity, while spare parts availability facilitates easy repairs during home relocations, enhancing both the drawers lifespan and the associated beds.
