The Blackmagic Media Dock is an integral part of a revolutionary production workflow that offers editors, colourists and other collaborators real-time access to high-end video footage as soon as it is shot, from anywhere in the world. By mounting up to three high capacity Blackmagic Media Modules users have simultaneous, high speed access to media from multiple URSA Cine cameras. Four high speed 10G Ethernet ports allow up to four separate editing workstations to connect directly, maintaining performance even with multiple users connected at the same time.
Designed specifically for aspiring Hollywood filmmakers, Blackmagic Media Dock is a high-speed file transfer device that accelerates professional post-production workflows.
The Blackmagic Media Dock is a high-speed file transfer device that accelerates professional post-production workflows. Designed specifically for aspiring Hollywood filmmakers, it allows the instantaneous transfer of massive, high resolution video files directly from Blackmagic cameras to collaborators and stakeholders anywhere around the world.
Design Brief:
Hollywood and global streaming platforms like Apple+, Netflix and Amazon Prime continue to drive a seemingly insatiable demand for more immersive cinematic experiences, leading to an exponential acceleration in image sensor technology and subsequent leaps in image quality, resolution and framerates.
Traditional media storage is generally embedded in digital film cameras, unable to be changed to keep pace with changing media formats developed to cope with massive increases in file size. Requiring constant media replacement simply to continue recording, this also results in workflow bottle necks on set, and difficulties when sharing files with post-production teams and other remote collaborators.
