Strong Women, Strong Business

Carter Digital / Indigenous Business Australia / Bayila Creative

Indigenous Business Australia serves, partners and invests with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who want to own their future.

IBA identified a need for a mentorship platform within the Indigenous business community, via insights gained from quantitative and qualitative research. Specifically for women seeking guidance in running and conduct their own business. As part of this, a national conference for Indigenous business women, Strong Women Strong Business (SWSB) was held, accompanied by a digital platform to assist women requiring mentorship.

Design Excellence

We needed to create a strong digital presence that provides women with the support and resources they need to continue to learn and grow as business owners, while at the same time assuring women that they are part of a safe and familiar online community. Alongside IBA, we were breaking boundaries with this platform, and the SWSB platform is unique in its offering both online and offline.

After speaking to women around the country we had a plethora of research to collate and determine user requirements from.

Design Impact

Our development team utilised the React library in the registration form interface for a smooth and seamless onboarding process for users. They also developed a complex algorithm that matches women with mentors best suited to their business needs. Providing users with three suitable business mentor options to choose to help them along their personal and business journey.

Design Transformation

Modular design system to allow the SWSB team to customise their content alongside business trends. We wanted to encourage women to explore the platform and inspire them with new and relevant content, as well as automated content such as the Strong Women Directory.
